2.0 Cautions
The instructions
in this manual describe techniques
for
device use and suggested patient positioning.
The
descriptions are general in nature. It is the
responsibility
of the MR technologist to make sure the
patient
is comfortable and to immobilize the patient
properly.
Exercise extreme care when adjusting the
angle
of a device using the Rocker handles. Make
adjustments
to the device slowly and incrementally
to
avoid forcing the patient's anatomy into an awkward
or
uncomfortable position. When lifting the devices,
make
sure you use proper body mechanics. Be aware
that
the control end of the Knee/Cervical/Elbow Device
is
heavier than the coil end, and may cause imbalance
if
not handled correctly |
3.0 General
Joint
Motion Devices described in this manual
consist
of five devices, and include the
Knee/Cervical/Elbow,Ankle,
Wrist, Hip and
Shoulder.
The Knee/Cervical/Elbow device is
used
for both the knee and for the cervical spine,
and
can also be used to image the elbow.
Dynamic
motion is enabled through continuous
motion
of the joint through a specific range of
motion.
Kinematic motion allows stepped or
incremental
movement of the joint through the
desired
range of motion. The devices are
especially
helpful in allowing precise and
repeatable
positioning during the course of
a
patient's treatment plan.
